Devon's healthcare is built around three main centres. In Exeter, Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust runs the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital at Wonford. The trust was formed in 2022 when the Exeter trust merged with Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust. In Plymouth, Derriford Hospital is a major trauma centre run by University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust. Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust runs Torbay Hospital in Torquay.
NHS Devon Integrated Care Board plans services across the county. Medical training is shared between the University of Exeter Medical School and the University of Plymouth, which also trains dentists through its Peninsula schools.
Science and research are growing too. Exeter Science Park sits on the edge of the city, and Plymouth Science Park lies close to Derriford. Beyond the cities, Devon has large numbers of care homes, many of them in coastal towns, plus rural GP surgeries and busy farm and equine vets.
Long distances and seasonal tourism make planning important. For Devon businesses, we set collection patterns that suit rural and coastal sites and provide the consignment notes that prove their Duty of Care.
From sharps in a single treatment room to infectious, cytotoxic and pharmaceutical waste across a multi-site estate, every stream is collected compliantly and backed by the right paperwork.
One accountable partner for clinical, hazardous and specialist waste, backed by more than 25 years of regulated waste experience.

Tell us what you produce, how it is stored and where your sites are. We will confirm the right streams, collection routes and paperwork.
Clinical waste producers across Devon range from city dental practices to rural veterinary surgeries. Most of our Devon work sits in these four sectors.
Torquay, Paignton, Exmouth and Sidmouth have many care and nursing homes. We collect sharps, dressings, continence waste and unwanted medicines from the colour-coded containers care teams use on every shift.
Dental training in Plymouth supports a wide community of local practices. We collect sharps, amalgam, extracted teeth and infectious waste from surgeries in both cities, with consignment notes for every hazardous load.
Devon's farming economy supports many mixed and large animal practices. Vets around Okehampton, Tiverton and Holsworthy produce sharps, anatomical waste and veterinary medicines that need licensed collection and full records.
Businesses at Exeter Science Park and Plymouth Science Park, and research groups at both universities, produce laboratory waste and contaminated sharps. We check the waste codes with you and route each stream to compliant treatment.
A simple setup with compliance built in from the first collection.
Share your waste streams, rough volumes and site details so we can match each stream to the right collection and treatment route.
Keep each stream in its own compliant, correctly labelled container in a secure storage area, ready for collection.
Collections are planned around your site, access and volumes, from a single practice to a multi-site estate.
Every collection comes with a hazardous waste consignment note and the records you need to show Duty of Care.
We collect from businesses across the EX, PL and TQ postcode areas, including:

Every Devon business producing clinical waste needs a licensed collection in place. That includes GP and dental practices in Exeter and Plymouth, care homes in Torbay and along the coast, pharmacies, farm and equine vets, private clinics, aesthetics studios and laboratories at the county's science parks.
Follow HTM 07-01. Put infectious waste for incineration in yellow, and infectious waste suitable for alternative treatment in orange. Offensive hygiene waste goes in yellow and black. Cytotoxic and cytostatic medicines go in purple, other medicines in blue, anatomical waste in red and dental amalgam in white.
Keep a hazardous waste consignment note for every hazardous collection for at least three years. Non-hazardous waste is covered by a waste transfer note. Together these show that your waste was moved by licensed carriers and treated correctly. We issue the right documents at each collection.
Yes. We work with veterinary practices across rural Devon, from Dartmoor to North Devon. We collect sharps, anatomical waste, infectious waste and veterinary medicines, and we plan collection patterns around your location and storage. Each hazardous load comes with a consignment note for your records.
The collection schedule is agreed with you at set-up, based on volume and storage space. You need your own colour-coded containers that meet HTM 07-01, correctly labelled for each stream, and a secure storage area, which matters on rural sites. We provide licensed collection, plus consignment notes and Duty of Care records for every load. Seasonal businesses can review their schedule as demand changes.
No. Our clinical waste collections are for businesses alone. Residents should contact their local council for household clinical waste, for example Exeter City Council, Plymouth City Council or Torbay Council. Your GP or pharmacist can also explain how to dispose of sharps used at home.
