Introduction
When a solar panel reaches the end of its working life, it doesn’t belong in a skip or a landfill. Panels contain toxic materials like lead and cadmium that can leak into soil and groundwater if they’re dumped. They also contain valuable materials - silver, silicon, copper and high-grade glass - that can be recovered and fed back into manufacturing. Under UK law, solar panels are classed as electrical waste (WEEE Directive, Category 14). That means businesses have a legal duty to dispose of them through an authorised route. Getting this wrong can result in fines and failed audits. We accept all panel types - monocrystalline, polycrystalline and thin-film - along with inverters, connectors and associated circuitry. Through our partnership with ROSI, a specialist in photovoltaic recycling, we recover up to 95% of the raw materials inside each panel at a purity level high enough to go straight back into solar manufacturing.
Common Solar Panel Recycling Scenarios
Solar farm repowering and decommissioning, commercial roof replacements, storm damage disposal, end-of-warranty upgrades, construction clearances with PV, and ongoing programmes for installers managing returns.

Explainer
The UK’s first wave of solar installations - dating back to the early 2000s - is now approaching the end of its 25–30 year lifespan. Industry estimates suggest the UK alone will generate around 30,000 tonnes of solar panel waste over the next decade, and globally that figure could hit 8 million tonnes by 2030. If those panels end up in landfill, the toxic materials inside them become an environmental problem. But if they’re recycled properly, they become a source of valuable raw materials: silver, silicon, aluminium, copper and glass. Recovering these materials reduces the need to mine new resources and keeps them circulating in the economy - which is exactly what a circular approach to renewable energy should look like.
Book a Collection TodayWe keep every waste stream fully compliant with clear Duty of Care, the right routes, and audit-ready paperwork.

When recycling is fragmented, time gets eaten by chasing suppliers and paperwork. A single, end-to-end solution simplifies collections, documentation, and billing across sites.

UK-wide coverage and planned collections help keep sites tidy, reduce disruption, and stop waste from becoming a storage problem.

Centralised reporting (weights, streams, documents + saving CO2 data) makes ESG, audits, and internal reviews far easier.

One expert partner, total compliance, clear data, and a service that just works.

FAQ's
Yes - PV panels are classed as EEE, and GOV.UK lists them under Category 14: PV panels in the WEEE coverage guidance. This affects how PV panels are handled and reported under producer obligations.
Yes. We can coordinate logistics for bulk PV panel recycling, including phased removals where required, to keep your project moving and reduce site disruption.
You’ll receive compliance documentation such as waste transfer notes and supporting records for audit trails and Duty of Care.
Yes. We provide UK-wide collections for PV panels, including single-site collections and multi-location programmes for installers, estates, and renewables operators.
We can support collections for monocrystalline, polycrystalline, and thin-film PV panels (and will advise on packaging/handling for mixed loads).
Yes. Our advanced fleet ranges from small vans for inner-city requirements to articulated lorries for large solar farm clearances. We can collect from any location in the UK, from a single panel to a complete solar farm decommission.
We use our expertise to help shape a simple and transparent waste management solution for all businesses.
