Transforming Our Future

Business Value

Waste Experts play a crucial role in delivering business value as part of our comprehensive sustainability strategy that we develop for our customers. As environmental consciousness and corporate social responsibility become integral aspects of modern business, managing waste efficiently has evolved beyond mere compliance with regulations. Businesses now recognise that effective waste management can contribute significantly to their bottom line, reputation, and overall sustainability goals.

One of the key ways in which Waste Experts add value is through cost reduction. By implementing innovative waste management practices, such as recycling programs, waste-to-energy initiatives, and circular economy approaches, we help businesses optimise their resource utilisation and minimise disposal costs. Waste Experts perform full waste audits to analyse the waste streams being created and identify opportunities for recycling and reusing materials, reducing the overall impact on the environment while simultaneously cutting down on procurement expenses. We also help our customers navigate the complex landscape of environmental regulations. Staying compliant with waste disposal laws is not only ethically responsible but also essential for avoiding legal consequences and potential fines. We keep abreast of changing regulations, ensuring that your business maintains a sustainable and legally sound waste management strategy.

Beyond cost savings and compliance, Waste Experts contribute to enhancing a company’s brand image and reputation. In today’s socially conscious marketplace, consumers, investors, and employees increasingly favour businesses that demonstrate a commitment to sustainability. A robust waste management strategy, designed and implemented by Waste Experts can showcase your company’s dedication to minimising environmental footprint. This positive perception can lead to increased customer loyalty, improved brand value, and a competitive edge in your marketplace.

Waste Experts also foster innovation within businesses by encouraging the adoption of sustainable practices throughout the supply chain. We collaborate with different departments across your business to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies that reduce waste generation at the source. This proactive approach not only aligns with sustainability goals but also stimulates a culture of continuous improvement and environmental responsibility within your company. We facilitate the development of strategic partnerships with suppliers, waste management vendors, and other stakeholders. By working collaboratively, your business can establish closed-loop systems, where waste from one process becomes a valuable input for another. This not only reduces your overall environmental impact but also creates new business opportunities and revenue streams through the monetisation of waste materials.

Mental health and wellbeing

As proud supporters of #ANDYSMANCLUB, Waste Experts understand the significance of coming together to raise awareness and support those facing mental health challenges. We believe that it is essential to take care of our mental well-being, just as much as our physical health and actively promote the message of #ItsOkToTalk. We recognise that the well-being of our team members is fundamental to our success as a company. Our commitment to mental health extends beyond the workplace, reflecting our dedication to fostering a supportive and thriving community.

We have invested in Mental Health First Aiders (MHFA) across the business to care for the mental health of our colleagues. Our MFHA’s are expertly trained in spotting the signs and symptoms of common mental health issues, providing non-judgemental support and reassurance, and guiding colleagues to seek professional support if required.

Leadership Programmes

All Supervisors and Managers within Waste Experts have either completed or are working towards Level 3 or 5 ILM Leadership and Management qualification. We are committed to continuing professional development for all our staff and believe the management courses provide them with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills to stand out as a leader.

We have a promote from within culture whereby all promotion opportunities within the business are offered internally first and we are dedicated to upskilling our people and supporting them with career development. The ILM qualifications help our staff to develop their skills and experience, improve their performance and prepare for further management responsibilities.

Modern Slavery

Waste Experts are committed to the principles of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and the abolition of modern slavery and human trafficking. All our key staff, including those who regularly carry out both customer and supplier site visits, have been trained to understand modern slavery and how to recognise the signs.

Our comprehensive training was further rolled-out to preferred suppliers, helping to raise awareness so that improvements can be made to make it more difficult for traffickers to infiltrate their businesses. We will continue to make every effort to eradicate modern slavery in our industry. For our latest policy click here.

Sustainable Supply Chains

At Waste Experts, we recognise the profound impact that supply chains can have on the environment. Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond waste management; it's ingrained in every aspect of our operations, including our supply chains. We procure ethically, sustainably and locally, investing in local suppliers of materials and local labour resources.

Whilst we aim to always support SMEs and local commerce, they must meet our strict compliance criteria to ensure our clients are guaranteed the best service with access to the latest technology and equipment. All of our supply chain partners are required to meet the standards of Waste Experts and align with our commitment to social value. This includes signing up to ethical trading standards, modern slavery and committing to real living wage amounts.

Supporting Our NHS

Waste Experts have chosen to partner with County Durham & Darlington NHS Trust Charity (CDDFT) to help enhance patient care and wellbeing in the local area.
