where the magic happens
State of the Art recycling facility
Waste Experts have a nationwide infrastructure of recycling, treatment and transfer facilities. To achieve the highest levels of service and customer satisfaction, we have invested heavily in our operations to support our recycling, collection, treatment, recovery and disposal activities across the UK.
Our industry leading treatment facility, based in Huddersfield, is recognised as a benchmark best practice installation, which is used by both the Environment Agency and DEFRA for training and reference purposes. We work to the highest treatment standards as laid out in BATRRT (Best Available Treatment, Recycling and Recovery Techniques).
We are an Approved Authorised Treatment Facility (AATF) and the only UK facility that is licensed to accept all 14 categories of WEEE under one roof. We are fully licensed and permitted to treat all WEEE containing Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs). We are also an Approved Battery Treatment Operator (ABTO) with the capabilities to sort, segregate and treat all battery chemistry types.
Our facility is also home to a number of specialist services including hazardous waste treatment, secure IT and asset destruction plus commodities recycling. We can process up to 75,000 tonnes of waste a year, making Waste Experts the destination of choice for total waste management.
Waste Experts are at the forefront of new treatment standards, with innovation at the heart of our business. We are working with the Environment Agency and ICER to produce guidelines for all treatment facilities, to further improve our experience for our customers.
